Should a SWG Pool Taste Salty?

I will have to check the salt level with test strips today or tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure my level isn't sky high, since I've not added any salt since our PB put it in back in March. One comment everyone who's been in our pool has is that all can taste the salt.

Is this pretty normal, or is it something I need to look at?

Yes, the water can indeed taste a bit salty.

It varies from person to person. The salt level in a SWG pool is right at most people's taste threshhold. ~3000 ppm. The ocean is ~35,000 ppm.

Belldiver is correct. It varies from person to person. The recommended salt level for my SWG is 4,500 (higher than most). My daughters can easily taste the saltiness in the pool but I cannot.

I can taste it just above 1000ppm. I can certainly taste it at 1500ppm. Some people get in my pool, which is now at 4800ppm (that's a different story) and they don't taste it.

I don't like salty food, either.

I have a slat ppm of 3400-3600 and I can only taste it the first time I go in for the day anfter that I cannot.
I get the salt taste comments too but it does not seem to be a complaint.

Thanks folks....and, no, we haven't had any complaints about the salty taste...just comments. I wasn't sure, though, if this is normal, or if, under normal circumstances, there should be no salt taste.

Good to know everything's as it should be. (That's why this forum's the best!).
