Welcome to the forum. You are going in circles.

Read the article in Pool School on how to permanently lower TA without lowering pH.

What are you keeping your TA at right now? Chances are you are maintaining TA at too high a level, which is what is causing the PH to rise.

    Re: Ph staying high

Thanks for the help , One more question is does adding bleach raise ph . I do not have any borate in my pool.should I add borate because I'am using bleach and baking soda but not borate.

    My water readings

    Ta 60 - 90
    Ph 7.5 - 7.8
    Cya 60 - 70
    Ch 1.5 - 2

    Thanks

    Re: Ph staying high

Let the TA settle around 60 and only raise it back to 60 when it goes below 60.

Bleach doesn't cause any net change in the PH. Adding bleach raises the PH for a short while, and it then goes down again as the chlorine get used up.

If "Ch" is chlorine, your chlorine level is too low. With a SWG, you should keep FC at 3 or higher. Without a SWG it should be 5 or higher.

So you are saying that you have a LOW TA, but your pH keeps rising? Does it get above 7.8 or is it stable there?

    Re: Ph staying high

Borates can help stabilize your pH swings, yes.

And yes, your chlorine level depends on your CYA level. All that talk about don't go over 3 is, for a lack of a better term, BS.

    Re: Ph staying high

Just let your PH sit at 7.8.
