Should "generating" light be on all the time?

I expected the "generating" light only to come a percentage of the time based on the control. It seems to be on any time the filter is on and I have the percentage control set to 1%. My FC level is up around 5 and the filter runs 12 hours a day. Is this normal?

That's what mine does; the light is on all the time regardless of the setting. I guess the light really should just mean "I'm working OK".

I think mine does as well. I can tell mine is really generating because of the small bubbles in the returns.

OK. Thanks. Should the voltage be different depending on the percentage then?

The percentage on the dial is just the percentage of time that it's actually generating, e.g. if it's set on 10%, it will generate for six minutes per hour. The rest of the time it's just sitting there, even though the "generating" light is on.

Update: There is a bit more to the story. Two days ago, I realized that I had left the filter control on "on" rather than "auto" so the filter was running 24 hours a day. I put it on auto then and now the FC is down to 3.5. I'll continue to monitor it.
