I am having the same problem.... We took our filter apart but our grids look like tentacles when we open the unit up. I soaked mine hosed down even let soak for 2 hours. I sure hope someone on this site can be of help. I have been searching online but all the filters I come across look different they have grids... Like I said mine are just little tubes hanging down from top of pump assembly... HELP PLEASE I hope I don't have to buy new filter system.

What you have is a Hayward Perflex filter. Probably has an EC- model number.
