How to "boost" for rain, parties, wind etc

I was wondering how others boost their chlorine? Do you add bleach or just up the percentage on the swcg?

    Thanks

    Re: How to

Sometimes I turn the pump on for a little extra run time. Other times I will add a bottle of bleach.

    Re: How to

I would just go up to shock value for your CYA. You can swim up to your shock value.

Would you use your swcg to get there or add bleach?

    Re: How to

I wouldn't touch the SWG - the only time I modify it is to shut it down if I'm shocking or cleaning it. Otherwise, I keep a few bottles of bleach available in the pool storage area and pour in a bottle whenever FC seems a little low or a few hours before a major swimming event. One bottle is usually enough to raise FC by 3.5 in my pool - I can't imagine ever having to add more than 2 bottles for a single day. Pushing up to shock when CC/algae is already under control seems overkill.
