Now, one more rock question, how does what the chart says (appx 100gpm) compares to the suggested max velocity of the water with 1.5" pipes(appx 51gpm)?

And maybe we can put this subject to bed.

High flow rates are really not much of an issue for PVC pipe. The resistance to flow, and thus the energy required, goes up as the flow rate goes up, but the pipe it's self will be fine. Higher flow rates do mean a less energy efficient system. Filters are much more sensitive to high flow rates. You don't want to exceed the design flow rate of your filter. Filters actually filter better at flow rates well under their design flow rate.
