Newbie pool owner-vacation home

I've never owned a pool,I purchased a vacation/retirement home in central America w/a pool.I currently spend 2-3 weeks per year @the vacation home.My wish is a very simple method for the on-site guard& maintence personnel to keep the algae under control& the bugs from breeding.Pool supplies seem to be somewhat limited in my area so I would need to supply via the States.I'm thinking some various floating devices?I would certainly appreciate any insight to this dilemma.Thank you

Your best bet is a SWG system, they have the lowest maintenance. It is still going to need frequent attention from someone who has some idea of what to do, once a week at the very minimum and more would be better.
