Iron in water

Ok, I'm setting up my first real pool, a 16x32 doughboy the next step is to install the liner. Previous pool I had was a 15 foot round intex. Every time I filled the intex I spent the entire summer removing iron from the water. Will the sand filter I got with the doughboy do a decent job removing the iron? Any other methods that I should use?

Thanks

Iron comes in two forms, particles and dissolved metals. A sand filter will do a dramatically better job at removing iron particles than an Intex cartridge filter will. However, no filter can remove dissolved metals from the water.
