Should I remove the Nature 2 Chlorine/Mineral filter

I'm glad I found this site but a quick question, should I remove the Nature 2 Chlorine/Mineral filter?

Yes. You don't need minerals in the water to keep it clean. Most of the minerals in the "mineral paks" will probably end up doing more harm than good. My vinyl liner is stained because the previous owner loved the pool frog.

I have not put the mineral pack/filter in yet. The store said to get the levels where they need to be then put the filter in. My thought is to remove the Nature 2 from my system. Right now the water goes through the filter throught the nature 2 and finall y the heater and return to the pool. I'm thinking of removeing the Nature 2 from the line all together is this correct?

Any clue how to actually get the cartridge open to get the mineral pack out? I tried but you need six or seven hands to do it - what's the trick?
