Converting DE to Sand...Advice please.

So I am considering converting my old 36sf Nautilus DE filter to a Hayward s244s filter. Any thoughts. I have a 1.5 hp pump that is fairly new so I should be OK there but looking for advice on the filter. Thanks!

How big is your pool? What is the Service Factor for that pump (it's on the label usually as S.F.)
