Well I'm about to start my pool up again and I have ordered a cheap version of the floatron do they really work at all?

At all, yes. Well, no. They don't produce nearly as much chlorine as their advertising suggests that they produce, and you need to manually add salt to the unit.
Yea I didn't expect them be as good as they say. But thought it might help considering my pool is small and I live in sunny climate.
But 90% of chlorine will be from liquid pool chlorine.
