Pump run 24 hours a day?

How many people just allow their pumps to run 24 hours a day? I have a dual speed 1.5HP that I've been allowing to run 24/7 on low speed since April. I haven't bothered messing with seeing what happens with running 12 hours a day and I haven't even purchased a timer yet. Just curious on who else runs their pumps all of the time. I realize that various environmental conditions will call for different results based on run time. Some people may need to run their filters that much but most probably don't. Thanks!

I think at some point I'm going to try the 12 hr run per day and see what happens. That is, when I'm not too lazy to get a timer set up.

I run mine about 12 hours a day, but only because I have a 1.5 hp single speed pump. If I had a way to run it a low speed, I'd probably run it 24/7 as well.
