I have a above ground pool that has like a white residue on top, the pool is filled with well water so im not sure if this is the problem or not. All of this pool stuff is new to me so any kind of help would be appreciated.

What all have you put in the pool. (chlorine, algaecides, clarifier, etc.)
Algaecides are bad about causing foaming.

The pool runs on a sand filter, which someone had told me that maybe the sand needs to be replaced, I purchased the sand filter at a garage sale.
