    Welcome to TFP.

What all have you put in the pool. (chlorine, algaecides, clarifier, etc.)

Algaecides are bad about causing foaming.

You can stop SLAMing your pool when you pass the OCLT (You lose 1ppm or less FC overnight, & You have .5ppm CC's or less) & your water is clear.

When I first put the pool up I was told to put mueratic acid and chloride, thats all that I've put in it . The pool runs on a sand filter, which someone had told me that maybe the sand needs to be replaced, I purchased the sand filter at a garage sale. Now I live in the country with open fields that they just disked so I thought maybe it could be from all the dirt that the tractors kick up... not sure of anything really, and thank you for the welcome

What type and size is the pool?

    What are you chlorinating with?

    Is it a salt pool?

How much of each did you put in?

How much FC are you maintaining each day?

It probably needs some time with the filter running to go away.
