Hi to all;

Pool was epoxy painted earlier this year and a small piece (2") has popped off. Hope this is not a sign of things to come!

Is there any way to repair this spot without lowering pool level?

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Gary R.

No, there isn't any useful way to repair with water covering the affected area. Repair might not be all that important, depending on what is under the paint.

This is one of the big reasons we don't ever recommend painting a pool. Paint doesn't last that long, and when it starts to fail it looks terrible.

Many thanks for the reply!

It's only been about a 1-1/2 months since it was painted. I had hoped it would last a few years at least.

I'm going to try some underwater patch and see if it will work.

Gary R.

Just to follow up:

Aplied waterproof cement patch to the spot where the paint popped. It set up fine and seems solid. Looks like they had painted over a loose chip and it came off when I vacuumed.

All's well for now.

Thanks,

Gary R.
