I was looking at it as an option for the solar cover due to space limitations.

I used one for a number of years but the salt (SWG) corroded the aluminum pipe in a few years. It worked pretty well and if if you don't have high salt, it would probably last longer than mine did. I still use a variant of the design and replaced the aluminum pipe with 1 1/2" ABS pipe (floats), but still using some of their hardware for the cover attachment.
