    Pump cycles

Would there be any benefit or disadvantage to running the pump on two 6 hour cycles. Say from noon to 6pm and then from midnight to 6 am? Or would a straight twelve hour run be better?

I split mine into 3 - 3 hour increments thinking it gives me slightly better skimming, etc.

Guess I'll head to the pool store tomorrow and pick up a couple more on/off trips. Have a mechanical timer. Thanks
