    Going out of town

I will be going out of town for 4 days. I have my pool just perfect but fear coming home to a green pool. My question is should I buy a puck while we are away or would it be safe to just raise to shock level? I keep my chlorine level between 5-8 and I usually add 96oz of bleach a day. This is my 2nd year to BBB and it has been a huge success! Any advice is appreciated

If you can run the pump on a timer for a few hours a day and not worry about debris clogging the skimmer, then you can use a couple of pucks in a floater while you are away.

For only 4 days I would think you should be able to bump up to shock level before you leave and hope to have FC when you return.

Or go and buy some pucks and a floater.

Well, the night before we leave, we usually just bump to shock level, circ for an hour, and turn off everything.

IF your CYA level can stand it I would say go buy a puck, AND bost your chlorine level with bleach before you go, because you never know on trips when you may delayed a day or so getting back.
