I've spent hours reading about everything on this forum. I'd like to thank everyone who takes the time to make useful and informative posts.
We signed our contract last Saturday, 05/19/12. Estimate is another week for permitting and then the ground breaking. I sketched out my design and the builder was able to capture it almost perfectly with his 3D rendering. Of course the colors in the images are all representative and are not the actual colors being used. The only thing missing from the images is a natural rock waterfall sitting over the spa and in front of the wall. The wall serves two purposes - for additional privacy and an additional backdrop for the waterfall. Falls will have two spillways into the spa. The spa has two spillways into the pool. Waterfall is being plumbed to allow for either un-heated pool water or heated spa water only. I will post progress pictures once the dig begins.
