We were sold an RC35/22 cell as a replacement for the Cubby Digital RC36 cell.

Will a RC35/22 cell work instead of an RC36?

That is correct. The RC-35 is an exact replacement for the older SC-36. There are some minor design changes and a new part number, however the new cells are completely compatible with the old cells.

We could start changing parts but I'd rather just put in an Aqua Rite system and call it a day. I know the Aqua Rites inside and out.
Cell was reading 20amps and 4.5Volts I think or the other way round. Is that ok?
Also salt reading keeps going up and down. First it reads 2,700 and says to add so much salt and then it reads 2,500...
Maybe the control panel is bad. I opened the filter and gave it a good clean. Pool is green so I had to shock with Trichlor and added like 4 pucks to skimmer. Going back tomorrow but won't know if cell is generating as pool has been shocked. The control panel says cell is on.
