Is it okay to use magic eraser on fiberglass?

Is it okay to use magic eraser on fiberglass? I am trying to clean up the water line? Does it damage the surface? Does it mess up the water?

I use it on vinyl and all types of plastics and have seen no scratching whatever. It's technically a microscopic abrasive but it'd take more than a lifetime to see any damage to the gel coat.
