FC = zero - how to test CC (FAS-DPD)

When I test for FC, the sample remains clear, no matter how much DPD powder I add. This tells me that the FC is 0, but since I cannot turn the sample pink, how can I test the CC?

Add some R-0870 powder, then go ahead and add the five drops of R-0003 even though it remains clear, which will turn it pink if CC is present.
