Hayward s240 high rate sand filter

I was looking at some videos about pool openings, and noticed that there are plugs that need to be put back into filters. I never did this.

history: I had someone maintaining my pool last year (which was my first year in the house), and they came by about a month ago on the assumption that they would be maintaining the pool again and did...something. Im not sure what.

Aside from the fact that I removed the skimmer valve because I thought I had a clog and (I think) put it back on wrong because it seems to be open in the horizontal position, everything has been working ok as far as I can tell.

My question is for anyone who is familiar with this filter if there are some plugs that I should be aware of?

    thanks in advance...

There is a drain plug somewhere around the edge of the base, you can see it in this diagram as parts 20, 21, 22.

Ok, I believe that is the waste line... if nothing is coming out of it, does that mean it's ok?
