I just hooked up a new Hayward EC40 filter to my 16x32 above ground pool. After bleeding all air and adding DE, 4 pounds my pressure was reading 0. I gave it a few minutes and no rise in pressure. Water is returning to pool at what seems to be a normal rate compared to previous years. I was afraid the DE had not coated the perplex tubes so I removed the cover to the filter and all de was sitting at the bottom of the filter. I cleaned it all out and retried. Same results. Pressure equals 0 still. What is going on? Please help

The gauge might be broken. Those pressure gauges aren't all that reliable. Even without DE on the grids I would expect to see a few PSI.
It is possible to have a bad gauge. It is brand new. I will get a new one and see how that works. Later this afternoon I will post more specs regarding my pool equipment. Just dont understand how the DE wont coat the grids. Thanks for the help so far.
