What type of stabilizer works best for raising CYA and holding chlorine. What brand name or type?

stabilizer is cyanuric acid ... they are all the same and all affect the amount of FC level you should maintain the same.
There is either solid (granules) or liquid. Liquid shows up on tests quickly. The solid can take up to a week to show up on tests, but it is effective before then.

The liquid is dramatically more expensive, and not worth the extra money in my opinion.

Make sure it is 95%+ cyanuric acid listed in ingredients. We have had occassional reports of 50% CYA.
