Loop-Loc Cover Loaded with Algae. Cleaning suggestions..

Hllo all,
We had a very mild and warm winter here in the northeast and when they opened the pool yesterday, the Loop Loc cover has algae on both sides.

Fortunately i was having the pool drained and acid washed and now there is new water in it so that looks beautiful...BUT the cover is disgusting. I laid it out so I could power wash it, but any suggestions to get rid of the algae? I am afraid it will "infect the pool" next fall if I do not get rid of all of it.

Also, I noticed a couple of little holes in the loop loc. Do they make such a thing as a repair kit?

power washing to clean it is probably all you need but why not put in a 1/2 cup of clorox ito the water and detergent...that should help get rid of any organics.
