Wall foam on floor?

Hello Again:

I'm currently restoring a 16X30 inground concrete pool that was originally constructed in 1950. A vinyl liner was installed in the pool 15-20 years ago, and I'm going to replace it. When I took the old liner out, there was (what appeared to be) wall foam on the floor. I plan to use 1/8" wall foam on the walls, but was wondering if I could use 1/4" on the floor for added cushioning. I realize it increases the risk of a liner puncture, but given that the floor is not in the greatest shape from all of the patching over the years, does anyone have any words of wisdom? Also, I'm not finding many suppliers of floor/wall foam--does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
