Newbie needs advice!!

I have been having a problem with cloudy water- turns out my filter wasn't working properly. I have been able to clear the water a lot today by shocking and running the filter. Water took on a weird color last night and i was afraid it was algae. My cc is zero though. My question is...can vacuuming cause the water to cloud up again?

Vacuuming could stir up some of the fine debris and make the pool cloudy ... or some of the fine stuff could be making it through your filter.

Sand filters can sometimes take a while to clear up the pool ... keep at the shocking for a couple more days to be sure.

Do you have TA and CH test #'s? If you mention cloudy, we wanna know these, too

Sure. TA is 150 (I'm adding dry acid to get it down) and the CH is 40
