liquid bleach instead of pucks?

Am I reading pool school correctly. I use bleach INSTEAD of pucks? Or is it to supplement/shock as necessary in addition to the use of pucks?

Thank you.. I do not have a SWG. Is everyone using a dispenser of some sort, or just pouring it in manually?

Some pour manually. I have a Liquidator, which is an automated liquid feeder. There are other options as well.

The advantage of bleach over the pucks is that bleach doesn't add CYA to the pool. Pucks are fine if you need everything they add, but our philosophy is to understand what you are adding and how it will affect your water before you add it.

I pour mine in manually.

I'm weird though...I don't see it as a task so much as a chance to get outside early in the morning, "commune" with my pool a little, and just eyeball everything for a few minutes, make sure everyone's all happy and in good running order for the day.
