Changing AG Pool Size

I bought a house with a 21x42 foot AG pool frame. There is a deck built at the coping level which goes half way around one end and half way down one of the straight sides. I would like to have a pool, but just not this monster size. After some research, I found there are 21 foot round pools.

Is it possible to change this huge oval pool to a round one by taking out some of the siding, coping, supports, etc. And then buy a 21 foot round liner?

Or better yet, could I keep it oval, but shorten the length to make it something like 21 x 30?

Just look at the upright spacing and figure reducing it one section at a time then look around online and see what stock sizes they offer in 21' wide x those lengths. You could probably go to in between sizes with a little more work.
