Here are my test results from moments ago:
FC: 2
CC: 0
pH: 6.8
TA: 60
CH: 120
CYA: 60
Salt: 3200
Temp: 80

Is this okay to go ahead with adding borates? I know the pH and TA are both lower than what the borates how-to sticky post recommends, but won't that just reduce the acid requirement?

Your biggest issue at the moment is your low pH. It could possibly be even lower than 6.8 because i think that is the bottom of the test chart. So raise your pH using baking soda or borates. The amount needed can be found using the pool calculator. A VERY low pH can be very harmful to your pool equipment as it can cause corroding/rusting etc. to your filter, pump, and other metal parts in your pool.
