Hi
My husband just finished draining our pool and doing an "acid wash" himself. He has now filled the pool with new water. He needs to know what to do now? Does he add chemicals or conditioner or salt or ash???? Does he need to shock? We have a salt water system. Please help, we are having a pool party on Saturday and today is Tuesday.
I would appreciate it.

Hi, welcome to TFP! Here is a chart of recommended levels. You will follow the recommendation for a plaster pool with an SWG. Check the owners manual for the salt level recommended for your SWG and use the pool calculator to determine how much salt and other chemicals you need to add to reach your recommended levels.

Test the water first to see if you need to adjust the TA and pH. We recommend using a high quality FAS-DPD test kit such as the TF 100 to test your water. Being able to run your own tests will yield more consistent test results and will help you manage your pool successfully.

Since you have a SWG, go ahead and bring the pool to shock level and turn on the SWG when the FC drops near the daily recommended level for your pool. The SWG is great for maintaining FC levels but it takes a little time to get up to the recommended level. Getting a start with bleach will save wear and tear on your SWG.

Take a little time to read through pool school for more pool care information. Feel free to ask any question you may have. There is usually someone around who can give you an answer.
