my pump died,so i thought about getting a intex 1500, can i take out the cartridge? and let the water pass through to the sand filter. to let the sand filter clean it? thanks

What if I get the intex 2500, and do the same thing, will it mess it up not having a cartridge in there? What are the cons? Thanks
Do you have a sand filter? If so, why would you want to put a intex pump on it? Why not just get a real pump? If cost is the issue, look at getting a used pump off of craigs list. The intex pumps are very weak and really do not last.
Yes ,I have a sand filter, cost is the issue, I could get a intex.for 75$ new, I have there salt water system , works great
