Will HTH chlorinating granules raise CYA?

Friend of mine gave me a 55lb bucket of HTH chlorinating granules after selling his pool. I was wondering if this will raise my CYA? If it will I will just give it back or sell it and buy bleach with it.

They are cal-hypo. So they add CH and do not add CYA.

Would you use it or just sell and buy bleach with it? 24' above ground pool

What is your CH level? If it's low enough you can use it for a while.
