Removed the winter safety cover to my 16x32 inground pool to find 2 large horizontal tears in the liner, above the waterline. Last year we had a couple of small holes, but nothing like this.
Obviously the liner is nearing the end of its life. I would like to attempt to get another summer out of it by patching these.
I have attached a picture.
After reading several posts in these forums, it seems like Boxer 100 glue is the way to go.
The question I have, is it better to slowly fill the pool first to stretch the liner below the tears before patching it? I was hoping that filling the pool a bit would push the liner a bit closer to the wall behind it before I put the patch on it.
Of course filling the pool could also make the tears worse I guess.
