need an additional suction port on AGP for auto-vacuum?

I have a 12x24 AGP that has a standard issue skimmer basket. This is the only suction inlet to the pump and filter. I want to be able to run a ladybug or similar auto-vacuum, and while at the same time, run the skimmer basket also. I can easily plug the vacuum hose into the skimmer basket drain, but this disables the skimmer while doing that. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks!
 
You might want to look at pool skim

Another member talked about this product. it attaches to your return (in stead of the suction side)) and skims the water. i was so impressed that i bought one but haven't tried it yet.
