question on backwash procedure, with my filter

Question for back wash proccedure with my filter's options...

My filter doesn't have a "rince" position, but instead, I have a "waste" position...
My problem is that, instructions I got for proper back wash proccedure, is to run 2-3 minutes on back wash position, then recyrc. position for 1 minute, then rince position for 30 second... but since I don't have "rince" position, should I use "waste" instead ????

thanks

Thank you Jason lion...
I forgot to ask another simple question... what is the max. pressure on filter's dial indicator, before doing a back wash ??? I have in mind 15 PSI ?????

thanks again

It depends on your starting pressure. Generally you want to backwash when the filter pressure reaches 125% (or 1 and 1/4) of the clean filter pressure. The filter can actually go quite a bit longer than that, but you are losing a lot of system efficiency the longer you wait.
