New pool Q - intelliflo below pool?

New to forum, just finishing pool at my house. House is built on a hill and pool is basically 8000 gallon above ground negative edge gunite pool. Equipment is about 3-4 feet below pool main drains. Will this cause a problem with the intelliflo? Any problem with the pvc plumbing and handling the pressure from the water above it?

I also have a gunite spa that is detached (500 gallons) and main drains for it are about 7 feet above pool pump, will that be a problem. Due to house layout and hillside, this was the only location for the equipment.

Welcome to TFP!

That is just fine. All of the equipment can handle that without problems. The only thing you need to do differently is to have valves at the equipment pad that allow you to turn off the water flow to and from the pool so you can open the pump strainer basket without the entire pool draining out.

Yes, the PVC is more than up to the task (make sure you use schedule 40 PVC and a schedule 40 rated cement). It is the height of the water column, not it's width or total volume, that matters. Properly installed, you system can handle approx. 100 feet of water above it, you won't be anywhere near that.
