Stock Tank as Small Pool?

It's that time of year again.

I've been looking at hard plastic stock tanks off and on for the last couple of seasons. Each time, I'd just settle for the pop-up pool and think 'maybe next year'. But this time I'm more interested, simply because of the durability of the hard plastic, with no more worries about tears or leaks. The one I can buy locally also has a drain plug that can be used to hook up the filter to.

Is anybody else doing this?

People make pools out of all kinds of things. A tank like that would certainly work. I've seen urban pools made out of dumpsters.

I had to check that out for myself, and you're right. I'd actually prefer a rectangle to a circle, as it fits my yard better.

8 feet. That's what my current pop-up pool is. Just enough room for me and my float.

I say go for it. Beats dealing with possible holes/tears.
