We have a 10 year old BaquaPure sand filter that has a hole in it, so we need a quick replacement before our pool turns into a swamp. Since we have to replace the filter, we are wondering if we should switch out to another filter. We've been considering going to SWG perhaps, too, though maybe not right away. What filter is recommended? We have a 24' round above ground pool. From experience of others, would you say go DE, cartridge, or stay with a sand filter?

If you have been generally happy with your sand filter, stay with it. Each has some small advantages and disadvantage and all will work fine but, with sand, you already know what you're dealing with.
