Can you identify wht this pipe is for?

Can you identify the pipe that is coming out of the pump that isn't going into the filter?

I'm not sure what it does or what it's for...

    Thanks

It is impossible to be sure, but most likely it is designed to power a pressure side cleaner, presumably one that does not require a booster pump. Do you have an extra fitting in the side of the pool that is not in use?

The only other thing I can think other than Jasonlion's idea is to allow you to drain/vacuum to waste.

The SLAM process is not finished until: 1. CC < 0.5 ppm, 2. An OCLT < 1.0 ppm and, 3. The water is crystal clear.

My first thought was a pressure side cleaner. But Linen has a good point too. The best way to tell is to open the valve and see if water comes out in the pool. If it does it's a pressure port.

If that's the case, I'm presuming this would be a good way to drain water out the pool if say after heavy rain I needed to reduce the water levels?
