Gluing Spa Skimmer Weir Gate

I've got an Island spa where the skimmer weir gate is glued in place against the acrylic spa. Naturally, the original glue let loose and I must re-glue the weir gate back in place. Anyone have success doing this with a specific type of glue? I was thinking of trying Silicone II...

plast-aid bonds very well to acrylic and pvc. it's also tint-able with a few drops of acrylic paint

I tried Silicone II today, but looks like the weir already has come loose in one place. I'll get some Plast-Aid and slap it on during my next water change.
