    A little self-indulgence

30 or more years ago, I grew hybrid tea roses. I got away from it for a long time but last Fall I put in 8 nice plants. These are my first three blooms this season.[attachment=0:r8rnxdml]DSC00246.JPG[/attachment:r8rnxdml]
I know these new "knockout" roses have kinda dominated the market for a while but Hybrid Teas are incredibly rewarding....even if they are somewhat finicky.

All we can get to grow are knockouts. We can't grow real roses like that. Pretty!

We seem to have the best luck if we IGNORE a rose bush. The ones we feed and fuss over, don't do squat. Ignore a bush, on the side of the house, and boom, beautiful roses.
