Welcome! You may find the answers easily enough by reading Pool School (button top right). It is a very condensed education so you may find you need to read and re-read it to get it all in focus. Printing or taking notes may help.
Pay particular attention to the Test Kits Compared section, as you may want to order a super test kit sooner rather than later. I hung around for months reading old and new threads before getting a kit and while that was a good education, without testing my water accurately I wasn't really doing much for the pool. The strips I was using were not totally wrong, just totally misleading when they indicated that a value was OK or not.
You can also use the Search function, if you have some specific issue to work on.
