Just trying to get a rough idea of the turnover rate of my pool. After all the reading, I'm more confused than I was before! Any easy calc that will give me that "rough" idea of my rate? Thanks!!

What make and model pump do you have, and what is your filter pressure?

Your pump will probably do about 55 to 80 GPM depending on the plumbing..

16,000 gallons/55 = 291 minutes = 4.85 hours for one turnover.

16,000 gallons/80 = 200 minutes = 3.33 hours for one turnover.

Pressure- 5-12psi...depending on how clean.
2 skimmers, 1 bottom drain, 6 returns. All have 2" ID PVC.

Based on the curve and your pressure, your flow rate is probably about 80 to 100 GPM.

James..Thanks so much for working those numbers for me!! Gives me an idea of what my runtime should be "when" I get this thing cleared up.

Dave..I totally agree with you! My issue now is trying to get this thing to clear and a limited amount of time for the next several days. (see my thread in Balancing Your Pool). The big swing is coming alot from adding Synthetic DE to try to clear this haze/cloudy issue. And you in no way hijacked the thread!!

Thanks to both of you...all your help is sincerely appreciated!!
