The concrete does not have any sort of grip/sealant on it. It does get slippery but it's not terrible. The kids just know to walk and not run. On the hottest of hot 100+ days the pool deck is pretty hot but it's a light color so again, it's manageable. We do most of our swimming between 6-8pm anyway.
