first post--liner problems, help please!

If you don't get a reasonably good set with the vacuum, then you should not try to fill the pool with water. If the liner is weak, or brittle, in any large areas, especially in the corners, then it would be better not to try to reuse the liner. You should also try to make sure that the walls and floor are in fairly good shape with no major defects.

Thanks Zea, will post the pictures tomorrow.

James, if I understand you correctly, you are saying make sure the walls and floor are in good shape BEFORE refilling the old liner? So maybe make sure they feel solid and not crumbly?

Yes, as best as you can without going to too much trouble. It's kind of a tricky situation, because you don't want to pull the liner out of place to check, as that can cause problems if you don't know how to do it safely.

My main concern is that there might be a significant defect that could affect the viability of reusing the liner.

Once you get the liner Vac on, and the liner set, you should be able to feel the walls and floor for anything large. As long a the liner has good integrity and gets a good set, and the walls and floor feel good, you will probably be able to reuse the liner.
