    Shuttle Discovery Photos

I took some snapshots of Discovery on her way to DC this morning from behind where I work ... the local roads here were jammed!

    Enjoy the pics

    Re: Shuttle Discovery Photos

Great pics. Many years ago, I was quail hunting in a 1600 acre section of land in NE Kansas. It was a perfectly clear day and I happened to look up and see the 747-shuttle flying over us @ about 3-4,000 feet.

It had landed on the West coast and they were taking it back to Florida.....apparently descending in to land at KCI some 70 miles away. It was an amazing sight to be standing in that remote field as those two technological marvels passed overhead.....I will never forget it.

I am saddened to see our Shuttle program end.

It was tough seeing how many houses went up for sale in my neighborhood after the last round of layoffs at NASA. Seems like if you weren't directly affected then you knew someone who was.
