Skimmer Socks

I have recently discovered and placed a skimmer sock on my pool side skimmer, it catches so much pollen and other schmutz! I have been changing it out with a clean one at least daily, sometimes more often. Pollen in particular is so heavy here in Georgia. I'm rinsing the socks out for reuse. I wonder if it is okay to put one on the pump's skimmer basket? Or is that a bad idea and if so, why?

Seems like a bad idea on the pump basket, but not sure why I think that I feel like it could starve the pump ... but maybe someone has done it or can say why they have not.

For one thing, it would be not as easy due to the suction flow entering the side of the baskets generally.

I'm on the same page with Jason. I can't say exactly why but I don't think I would do it. Seems a little like wearing a belt and suspenders :lol:
