Any tricks to measuring CYA?

Its the one test I have trouble with. Like how far should the dot disapear. Test outside in sunlight? Inside?

Thoughts?

Letting the water get to room temperature helps. But since your in FL that's probably not a problem. I do the at the waste line hold the vile and look down the tube, when the dot is completely gone that's your CYA amount.

I think the best thing to do is order some 50 ppm standard and use that to fine tune your testing. That way you can find out what dofferent lighting levels, etc does to your judgement.
